“As a neurodivergent business owner myself I understand this can bring a specific set of challenges when working with other people, in a world that is often set up for neurotypicals”

My Commitment to Inclusivity

My Values

I am passionate and committed to improving inclusive practices in my business.

I have ADHD and have been a carer for family members with invisible and visible disabilities. I spent nearly two years working for a visual impairment charity, often the first point of call for people seeking support following sightloss. I spent a lot of time supporting, advocating and acting as a sighted guide. My personal experiences and seeing how a lack of inclusivity affects my friends has fuelled my passion for these values. I want to help make the world more inclusive and accessible for all.

My Commitment

I work with everyone from all backgrounds and genders. I’m a fierce ally of all communities, including people who are neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+ and Global Majority communities. I’m committed to working towards practices that make my space feel safe and that you feel heard. I am always open to constructive feedback as to how I can improve or where I may get things wrong. I am dedicated to using inclusive language and ensuring diverse representation in the copy and materials I create.

As part of my commitment to active allyship, as one of my clients, I will highlight any marketing practices where I feel you might be falling in terms of inclusivity. If you are not open to this, please do not apply to work with me.

I will only work with those who align with my inclusive values. I will not speak in communities, on stages, or work with anyone who has not considered inclusivity and accessibility in their line ups or physical spaces. In the very least I will not be a part of all white line-ups. Please consider this before contacting me. I will not tolerate any hate or discrimination that contradicts these values and I reserve the right to end my relationship with you at any point because of this.

NOTE: Being neuro-inclusive means being accepting of both neurodivergent and neurotypical needs and this can include those with mental health diagnoses and people who identify as being highly sensitive. You do not need a diagnosis to identify as neurodivergent.

This is not an exhaustive list of my commitments nor a ‘tick list’ as I’m always open to understanding and learning more and regularly review my practices.

As a result, I am always open to feedback and learning more. If you find there is anything you are unable to access on the website or through working with me, or you feel I can improve in any way around inclusion and accessibility, you can contact me by email on hello@sammilburndigitalmarketing.com or please feel free to DM me or voicenote me on my Instagram www.instagram.com/sammilburndigitalmarketing
