5 easy ways to create social media content
Creating social media content is an ongoing challenge for online businesses. We know we must create quality social media content to engage and connect with our audience. But finding inspiration is time-consuming. We need content inspiration, we need it to be easy, and we need it fast!
Consistency is a key goal in creating social media content. Why? Because then someone knows you’re home! They trust that you’re dependable.
If you only post content to your social media once every other week, people will start to wonder if you’re there.
Not showing up consistently is likely to make people wonder how consistent you are as a person.
Whether that’s a wrong assumption or not, it doesn’t matter - we can’t help our unconscious thoughts.
But it doesn’t have to be hard to post even once daily to maintain your online visibility. I’m going to share with you 5 quick and easy ways to create social media content that you can use in your business.
Before I do that.

Okay, let’s get stuck in!
Easy Social Media Content Idea 1 - Awareness Days
One social media content creation win is to find international, awareness or celbratory days. Search on Google and you’ll be inundated with ideas for celebratory days. You could even search by sector to find the ones that relate most to you.
Maybe you sell chocolates – you can’t forget Chocolate Lovers Day! Or maybe you care deeply about inclusivity? Celebrate Autism Awareness Month with a post about what it means to you. Whatever your business and personal values, think of a story or personal situation and how you can incorporate that into your messaging.
Easy Social Media Content Idea 2 - Sharing Your Freebies and Products
Yes social media content needs to be social. But don’t forget to talk about what you do and what you sell. Especially that freebie you’re using to entice people onto your email list. No one is going to download it unless they see it. So get regular social media posts set up and drafted in advance and watch your email list grow. Every time I post one of my freebies on social media I get at least one new sign up, so I try and post about them most days in addition to my regular posts.
Easy Social Media Content Idea 3 - Behind the Scenes/Lifestyle content
If I could only get the same amount of engagement as my dog on social media - I would be WINNING at life. Seriously, my dog has more Instagram followers on his account. It’s shameful.
At every opportunity, I’ll be taking videos on walks or while I’m working. We call this ‘B Roll’. You can then do a voiceover or put some text over the top with tips, tricks, observations and more. Why does it work so well? It’s video. It’s not static. It keeps your eye interested, so it tends to stick around longer to see what will happen next.
Easy Social Media Content Idea 4 - Repurpose Your Content
Got a website> I’m hoping you’ve got a blog or two kicking around. Or maybe you have an email list with a carefully curated weekly email. Take all of that content and repurpose it into social media content.
If you struggle to turn it into short social media captions, ask ChatGPT to give you a hand.
Did you know that only 2% of your audience on Facebook see your content? So you can keep repurposing that content and re-wording it. Squeeze the juice outta it!
That’s why you can’t worry too much about whether some of your messaging might be too similar. In fact, out of the 2% of people who do see your posts, how much of that information do you think they take in?
If you’re really stuck, scroll back 6 months to a social media post that did well, re-use the image, and tweak the caption slightly.
You remain visible, and since the content performed well before, it’s more likely to get engagement.
Easy Social Media Content Idea 5 - Reel Templates
Reels CAN be quick and easy social media content. Head to your Instagram app, go to post a reel, and head to templates. Instagram has a range of templates you can use. Or download an app called Capcut. Again, they have lots of templates you can use. All you need to do is upload an image or video or two and add a little creativity.
So, there you have it - 5 easy ways to create content for your social media.
Ideally, you’d have a strategy and a longer-term plan of what you want to achieve. Engagement or Growth? In which case you need to do a bit more work. But when it comes to maintaining a presence these are great examples.
